Smash Cake

Cakes • 2 Sep 2014

I recently had the privilege of creating a first birthday smash cake for a very good friend’s gorgeous daughter. She requested bright colors: melon tones, candy pinks and sunset yellows. The cake was a bit large for a standard smash, but Kate wanted drama: a palate of vibrant smudges smeared on her baby’s cheeks and snow-white lace dress, fluffy clouds of soft frosting caught in her wispy curls.

The cake is three layers high and six inches around, a vanilla confetti interior and ombre exterior.
